Conclusion

This module offers the possibility to reflect on social media, on their uses and users.
Our life is social, we cannot live without our smartphone.  Social media are parts of our every day life: we tag, we put like, we pin, we share, we skype, we text, we share. Our life is not any more private, it's social. However, we must ask ourself if we are living a real life, or just a social one.

SHARETING

Shareting is an expression that is  used to define the parents who are sharing their children pictures on social networks. A survey of the C.S. Children's Hospital Michigan University tries to analise pro and con.
These are the highlights:

  • Over half of mothers and one-third of fathers discuss parenting on social media.
  • Parents say social media is most useful for making them feel they are not alone (72%).
  • Three-quarters of parents point to “oversharenting” by another parent.

The activity of sharing pictures of their own children it very common among parents, but this attitude, endages the privacy of their children and it creates for them a digital identity before the age they will be able to use consciusly the web.

Fortunately sometimes, social networks delete pictures of  minors from the web, or in some cases shuts down the account of parents.

It's a way to prevent children  privacy and status.
